Phillip Victor Bova is an Ottawa, Canada-based record producer / engineer and bassist with over 25 years of experience.He has produced and engineered hundreds of critically acclaimed sessions for many well known recording artists and labels including; Ian Tamblyn, Cathy Miller, Dario Domingues, Terry Baine / Fourth World, Tupac Amaru, Guy Leblanc and Nathan Mahl, Dave Draves, Gerry Griffin w/ The Xrays, Déjà Vu, The Fenton Brothers, Susan Aglukark, The Barstool Prophets, Garnet Challenger, The Prescott Brothers, Thrive, The Tone Poets, Shake the Ghost and Mike O'Reilly amongst others. Phillip has also enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship spanning three albums with Mr. 'Hip Elegance' Dick Maloney, and recently arranged and produced David Wiffen's "South of Somewhere" CD on True North Records distributed by Universal Canada Inc. Well known for his good humor and huge ears (metaphor), his undying patience, uncanny arrangement skills, utmost attention to detail and his ability to inspire unimagined performances from those he works with. Phillip is a producer in the true sense of the word.He is renowned for his work with real instruments, his vocal recording technique and his specialist mixing skills. As a long-time live and session musician Phillip is a musically astute monster - conversant and adept with all popular music styles. Recent projects include; The Hi Lo Trons, Kathy Kennedy, Graham Young, The Rhythm Method and Craig Simon of Purple. Also known for his innovative studio design savvy, Phillip has designed and constructed several world- class recording facilities including Raven Street Studios, Ambience Recorders (x2) and Studio V.U. He is currently based out of bova sound a comfy state-of-the-art residential studio in Ottawa where he and his Son Philip Shaw Bova continue to amass their mouth-watering collection of very cool gear.
